Give Chimps a Chance

Long-term survival in the wild of our nearest relatives - chimps, bonobos and the gorillas - is increasingly unlikely. This is a shame since, given enough time, one of them might make the evolutionary breakthrough that enabled our hominid ancestors to begin the march toward culture and civilization. And, who knows, they might even do a better job of it. Or maybe they’d be just like us.
